Our Story

Groceries and a kitchen, built around the same idea

Lulada Market & Café exists because Saskatoon's Latin American community — Colombian, Venezuelan, Mexican, and beyond — deserved a place that carried both the ingredients they grew up with and a kitchen that knew what to do with them.

Where the name comes from

A lulada is a classic Cali, Colombia drink — crushed lulo fruit, lime, and ice, served everywhere from street carts to family kitchens. It's specific, it's regional, and if you know, you know. That's the standard Lulada holds itself to: not "Latin food" as a generic category, but the real, particular dishes and products people actually grew up with, done properly.

Venezuelan tequeños — fried cheese and guava pastry rolls — pulled apart to show the melted cheese inside.

The market side

Shelves stocked with the brands and staples that are hard to find anywhere else in Saskatoon — Colombian panela and sazón, Venezuelan harina PAN, Mexican masa and salsas, Jarritos and Pony Malta in the cooler, and the snacks that taste like home. Every product on the shelf is something we'd buy for our own kitchen.

The café side

Next to the market, a small kitchen turns those same staples into made-to-order plates — Colombian calentado and milanesa, Mexican quesabirrias, Venezuelan tequeños and pastelitos. It's home cooking at the pace of a neighborhood café, not a full-service restaurant.

What guides us

01

Specific, not generic

We'd rather carry the exact brand a customer is looking for than a vague substitute.

02

Pan-Latin, on purpose

Colombian at the core, but genuinely Venezuelan, Mexican, and beyond — Saskatoon's Latin community isn't one country, and neither is our shelf.

03

Cooked like it's for family

Every plate on the café menu is something we'd serve at our own table.

Come see for yourself

Whether you're stocking a pantry, grabbing lunch, or ordering delivery from across Saskatoon, we built Lulada to feel like the market and kitchen our own families would want.
